Unlike buses, on the Jerusalem Light Rail you must make sure to have a ride ticket in advance of boarding.
Please note: Tickets are not available for purchase on board the light rail.


Ride Tickets
All types of tickets for the light rail that loaded on the Rav Kav enable free travel on the light rail and on Egged buses for 90 minutes from the time of first validation.

The personal Rav Kav Card
The Rav Kav is a smart ride card that enables travel on most means of public transportation in Israel, including on the Jerusalem Light Rail and Egged buses.
 Discounts for those eligible, such as senior citizens, youth and others, are only possible through using the Rav Kav.
The Rav Kav is a multi-use card, and it may be reloaded with various types of ride tickets, such as a multi-ride ticket or monthly pass, and more.
in case of loss or theft, a refund will be granted for the remaining trips loaded on the card

Issued against one-time fee (5 NIS) 
Allows charging travel contracts (20% discount (purchasing tab 10 or 20 trips)) 
Can not get through discounts to eligible 
In case of loss or theft - you can not get a refund for the remaining balance travel card


Validate transfers from buses for more than one passenger on a single Rav KAV card!
Did you start a trip with several passengers on a bus, using a single Rav Kav card? You can now transfer to the Light Rail with the same passengers and vaildate your trip using the same card for everyone. Please note: validating at the start of a trip on the Light Rail is possible only for a single passenger.


Light Rail Passengers pleace note!
You can now use Stored Value on the Light Rail!
Starting on January 1, 2017, the nation-wide transportation arrangement
"Stored Value" is available on the Light Rail. Stored Value can now be used both when you start your trip on the bus and transfer to the Light Rail, and when you start your trip on the Light Rail.



 Single Fare Ticket
A paper ticket with a magnetic strip on the back.
This ticket grants one trip on board the train with no transfers to the train or bus permitted.
When validating a single trip ticket, please make sure that the time of validation was printed on the back of the card.
a single trip paper ticket purchased on the bus cannot be used to travel by train
The ticket must be saved for inspection until exiting the train station
The fare is the price for a single journey, and it does not enable discounts granted to those eligible (youth; student; senior citizen, etc.).

Remember: Except for a full-fare single journey, travel on the light rail requires using a Rav Kav card.

Children up to Age 5

pay passenger traveling with a child under five years old does not need to pay for him. However, a ticket must be purchased for any additional child.

bicycles

Light rail riders may only carry aboard a folding bicycle that is inside a suitable bag.

Regulation number 38 (a1) of the Traffic Regulations states:
 
A person shall not drive a motorized vehicle or ride any animal on a light rail track, other than crossing in predefined and certified locations.
 
No bicycles on the track: Riding a bicycle on the track of the LRT line is dangerous both for the cyclist and for LRT passengers.
 

Dogs
Dogs may be brought onto the light rail so long as they are of a size that enables holding them on the rider's lap or in the rider's hands, and provided they are muzzled and leashed.  This excludes registered Seeing-Eye dogs and those in training wearing a vest labeled "Seeing-Eye Dog in Training (Trainers must purchase a ticket).
